Family therapy sessions allow each member of the family to identify their main concerns and to feel listened to and heard by others. Patterns of interaction can be identified and goals can be set to assist with restructuring these interactional patterns. Looking at the importance of demarcating the adult and child sub-systems, strengthening each, as well as helping families to move through the family life cycle and developmental phases which are associated with growing up.
